What first inspired you to write?
It was my 7th grade teacher, he encouraged me to look at writing as a career.
What inspires you now?
I can’t wait for inspiration, I’m on contract. I guess it’s the fans, the money and the challenge to do my job right.
What advice would you give to a new writer?
Write, write some more and then write some more. Give yourself writing challenges.
What is your most favorite story that you have authored? My favorite
John Saul book is The Manhattan Hunt Club.
The Blackstone Chronicles was very successful and actually was made into a video game. The Blackstone Chronicles is set in New Hampshire. How did you end up choosing New Hampshire as the setting? The only reason I ask is that we are also located in New Hampshire.
It had to be in New England. Anaheim wouldn’t do. I’ve used other New England states and New Hampshire seemed pretty good. I also needed a place that was remote.
You also have acted in plays. Do you enjoy acting more than writing?
I enjoy writing much more.
What future projects do you have planned?
I’m always fiddling with something. I’ve got a couple of plays going and always a book.
What interests do you have outside of writing?
I enjoy cooking, golfing, bridge, socializing, reading and researching genealogy.
Any last words of wisdom? Not really. Just want everyone to have good luck.
